It was with great sorrow that the MKG, LLC (formerly Michaud-Kinney Group, LLP) announced the loss of our friend, colleague
and founding member, Richard R. Michaud. Rick passed suddenly on Sunday, March 4, 2012, after returning home
from a business trip abroad.
Rick will be remembered for his strong work ethic, dedication to his loving family, generosity, spirit, easy laugh and
instant ability to turn any acquaintance into a lifelong friend. While we are saddened by his passing, we proudly
celebrate Rick’s accomplishments and are privileged to carry on Rick’s work ethic and values in our continued
practice of intellectual property law by fulfilling the ideals Rick established at our firm.
Prior to entering legal practice, Rick was a senior design engineer at Dorr Oliver, Incorporated, where he designed
and developed industrial centrifuges and process equipment. Rick was a popular lecturer on intellectual property
topics. In addition, he was well-versed at counseling business executives and in-house counsel at both large
and small corporations. Through his years of practice, he developed a diverse international clientele.
